Swimming

Swimming lessons take place in our own swimming pool, within the school grounds, in the second half of the summer term (June-July).  We request voluntary contributions for the lessons to help towards heating and maintenance of the pool and to fund our qualified swimming teacher.

Without these contributions the pressure on the school's budget may mean that we are unable to run swimming lessons for the whole school.

July 2026 After School Splash - Additional Information

  • Children will be allowed in the pool 3:30-4:30pm.

  • Sessions are available on Friday 3rd, 10th and 17th July. Spaces are limited to 10 children per session.

  • Children must wear a swimming hat whilst they are in the pool.

  • There is a £4 per child fee, which must be paid to the school office before the splash session. The booking is not confirmed until payment has been made.

  • There will be a qualified life guard on duty for the session. However, parents must remain poolside and are responsible for their child's behaviour throughout the session and whilst the child is changing.

  • Parents remain responsible for the actions of their children and Thorpe Church of England Primary School are not liable in the unlikely event of injury.

  • If a parent or child's behaviour is deemed as unsafe and inappropriate by a member for the Senior Leadership Team they will be asked to leave the school site immediately. In this event, no refunds will be provided.

  • In the event of thunder and lightening the session will be cancelled and refunds given upon request.

  • No diving or jumping into the pool. Everyone must walk poolside.

 

July 2026 Nursery Splash- Additional Information

  • Session times are follows: 10:30-11am, 11:15am-11:45am, 12:45pm-1:15pm, 1:30pm-2pm, 2:15pm-2:45pm. 

  • The Nursery Splash will be a fun session and will be run by a qualified and experienced swimming teacher.

  • Children must wear a swimming hat and swimming nappy (if required) whilst they are in the pool.

  • Spaces are extremely limited with just 4 children per session.

  • Parents do not need to enter the swimming pool, but are required to stay poolside. Parents remain responsible for the actions of their children and Thorpe Church of England Primary School are not liable in the unlikely event of injury.

  • In the event of thunder and lightening the session will be cancelled.

  • No diving or jumping into the pool. Everyone must walk poolside.
