    About Us

Welcome to Thorpe Church of England Primary School

It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Thorpe Church of England Primary School. Nestled in the heart of Thorpe Village, our one-form entry primary school is proud to be at the centre of village life. I am both excited and honoured to lead the school into its next chapter.

At Thorpe, your child’s learning is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that where learning flourishes, children flourish too. Our aim is to nurture curiosity and inspire a love of learning, so that every child achieves their full potential, growing in confidence and happiness within the supportive environment of our small, friendly school.

Our dedicated staff team work tirelessly to ensure that every child is both supported and challenged in their learning journey.

In recent years, our wonderful Friends of Thorpe Primary School Association (FOTSA) has generously supported the development of our resources and infrastructure. Annual Christmas and Summer Fairs, alongside other fundraising events, have raised significant funds, strengthening the opportunities and facilities available for our children.

Although we are a Church of England school, we warmly welcome families of all faiths and none. Our Christian foundation shapes our ethos, fostering kindness, reflection, inclusion and respect. We enjoy strong links with St Mary’s Church and provide our children with opportunities to explore faith and spirituality in ways that encourage curiosity, understanding and personal growth.

We are proud to have been awarded the Platinum OPAL Play Award in recognition of our outstanding play provision. Our pupils thrive during creative playtimes, developing important life skills and friendships in a nurturing environment.

Beyond the classroom, we offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities to enable children to discover and develop their interests. We are proud of our musical connections with Egham Brass Band and are committed to providing rich experiences that extend learning beyond the school day.

As a school, we are also actively involved in the Runnymede Trust, collaborating closely with four other local schools. We benefit from positive partnerships with TASIS and ACS Egham, enhancing the opportunities available to our pupils.

Our Open Morning for our 2026 September Reception Class is on Thursday 6th November at 9.15pm.

Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you enjoy exploring it and finding out more about our wonderful school. If you would like to arrange a tour, please do not hesitate to contact our school office.

    With warm regards,
    Joe Blaney
    Headteacher
