Football League Training Years 5 & 6
Football training is organised and run by our school Sports Coaches and staff. Training is every Tuesday during the Autumn and Spring terms. They learn to use different shooting techniques, defences drills such as tackling one on one and much more. Equally important is the values learnt; sportsmanship which is very important when you are part of a team and meeting every week helps us work better as a group!
Footballer 1: Being part of the team is great fun and I learn new things every week. We learn how to dribble and learn how to turn - I think we are much better than when we first started.
Footballer 2: I like the shooting drills and the defence tactics. We improve week on week and I really enjoy the matches at the end of the training session.
Football matches are held throughout the school year against local other primary school in the ERPSSA league.
We are fortunate to have amazing volunteers to run our Coding Club. Learning code such as Scratch and Python our KS2 children are invited to join our coding club at various times throughout the year. We run Beginner and Advanced sessions.
Athletics training is run after school on a Tuesday during the Summer Term. KS2 children are invited to join and club is organised and run by our Sports Coaches and PE staff. The focus is on training in preparation for the District Sports Championships in June however all KS2 children are welcome to join to learn and develop their athletic skills.
